Matilda Palmu
Matilda Palmu is a designer and an artist who works with many different materials. In her work artistic expression and design based problem solving go hand in hand. Matilda's aim is to design products that have some kind of statement or a message whether it is commenting on a current phenomena or just saying "hey, smile, it's not so serious". She gets her inspiration from many different things but her greatest inspiration source are colours and materials.
VARPU pattern is a result of collaboration between Aalto University and Lapuan Kankurit. Inpsiration for VARPU came from the soft and cute catkins that are the first sign of spring.
